One of the greatest comics of all time enters into one of its most famous arcs of all time. Globe trotting adventure with Bizarre powers against one of the greatest villains of all time. You really can't go wrong. Highly recommend reading Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency first though, no matter how 'accessible' people may tell you think arc is.
If you watched the anime and heard that you need to read the manga, you should. While the David production was a great anime and very detailed, they had to leave out certain things, also you get a great feeling whilst you read this and I feel it is not spoiled by watching the anime. If you have not watched it and just wanted to see what jojo is, then this, along with its predecessor Jojo's Bizarre Adventure part 2 Battle Tendency (my personal favorite arc) is a great place to start.
Buying all three volumes of this great series and if you keep your eyes peeled amazon often has them on sale. Beautiful books, great format for a fantastic manga.

I have been a fan of the JoJo series going on about 10 years now. I got hipped to it via the internet had no prior knowledge to the manga. I got the PS1 and I got hooked, I wanted to know everything about this series. I started watching the OVA's about the Manga and yes they differ in certain aspects, but it someone remains true to the manga. Also the art is just amazing.
Got this for a friend for Christmas to convince him to get into Jojo. He likes it, so now I can show him parts 1 & 2 and drag him into the abyss with me.
I'm a huge fan of this series and I was so happy to get this volume for so cheap! Jotaro is one of my favorite Jojos so it was great all around! Not to mention, it arrived a day early which was a wonderful surprise!
